“…The choice for me was easy. A bigger boat.”
Top Deck: The top deck is structurally designed to support the weight of a Robinson R22 or other small helicopter. The rails remove to allow landing with the tail rotor facing aft and hanging over the stern. Wheels are then installed and the helicopter is turned so as to fit within the confines of the boat. Welded-in tie downs are used to secure the helicopter when underway. The deck is also plumbed and wired for a hot tub. A stainless hand operated crane is used to hoist kayaks or other heavy items. Chairs on deck were for a 4th of July party.
Utility deck: Located forward between the galley and the forward stateroom this deck was designed for multiple uses but in particular was engineered to store a VW Golf. The Stabicraft dinghy is stored above the car on foldable arms that are structurally welded to the framing. A sailing dinghy could be stored on these arms and a 2nd dinghy stored below or there is adequate space for two jet skis. The deck is also plumbed and wired for a hot tub.
Working Deck: Located forward of the utility deck this area contains a Kitomatics drum windless that holds 10’ of galvanized 3/4″ chain, 150’ of galvanized 3/8” chain, and 400’ of 1/4’’ stainless wire connected to a 210 lb. Forfjord anchor. A storm anchor is mounted next to the ladder and chain and rode are stored in the deck box. This system eliminates the need for a chain locker with it’s inherent smell issues.
AFT Decks: The lower aft deck is accessed through double doors in the main saloon. Access to the lazarette hatch is located on this deck as well as the aft boarding door and lifesling. The upper deck is accessed from the guest stateroom and adjoins the walk around decks that connect to the pilot house.
