Drive System

Engines:  The Westerbeke 120N Century Series were chosen because their low stressed, non-turbo design was engineered for reliability and a long service life.  They were ordered with 150 amp (at 24 volt) Balmar alternators and with isolated ground for electrolysis control.  The heat exchangers are cupra-nickel and Racor duel filter MA 500 filters are installed.

Running Gear:  The Hirth transmissions have a 3 to 1 ratio and are connected to Python Universal drives. The shafts are 2” stainless and the propellers are four bladed bronze units. PSS dripless shaft seals are installed. Spare propellers are located under the floor in the master stateroom.
